What kind of names do not reward the parents of their children. But do they understand how much a name can injure a child’s psyche, and sometimes “break” life? Apparently, not always ... Increasingly, Ukrainians give children traditional names such as Galina, Nina, Lyudmila, Larisa, Zinaida, Valentina, Grigory, Leonid, Stepan, Anatoly, Sergey and Peter, but there is a clear trend for unusual names. At the same time, in recent years there has been a real boom in old Russian and church names. Experts say that this is already a pronounced trend.
So, in 2006 such unusual names as Iris, Ratibor, Darwin were registered in the Crimea. In the Vinnitsa region, parents gave their children names of biblical origin, such as Moses, Seraphim, Solomon, Magdalena. In Volhynia, girls can boast of such names as Era and Karmelita.
Dobrynya, Adam, Elisha, Maximilian, Plato, Spartak, Yaser, Apollinaria, Graphielita, Jasmine and even Shakira appeared in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
In the Donetsk region, in addition to Egorka and Darius, Attillo, Ariadna, Esmiralda and Carmen are registered. The unusual names Shokhrukhkhon, Esfir, Zalman-Israel, given by the parents of the Zhytomyr region, compete with Transcarpathia, where children with the names Izhak, Abel, Mimi and Malvina are registered.
Children named Parno, Knyaz, Hellada, Devraj now live in the Zaporozhye region, and Hripsime, Brooklyn, King, Adelfina live in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. A music lover in the Kirovograd region called his daughter Madonna. Florin-Daniel and Abigail Grace were born in the same area. In the Luhansk region, parents named their children Farad, Plato, Fabian, Fanya and Aelita, and in the Lviv region they named Angel, Nobel and Olvia.
Unusual names are registered in the Nikolaev region - Abraham, Tamerlane, Izmail, Maria Magdalena, Nika-Gaetana, Shukria, Zardzhinia, Zheniviev, in the Poltava region - Akhlidin, Damir Roland, Dzvinka-Ivanna, Merisabel.
In the Odessa region, in a few years, Marshal and Seraphim, Hamlet and Ozodakhon, Zhuizhui, Abdulzhakil and Rusalka will go to school, and in Kharkov - Kenedy, Shahid, Julien-Aleksey, Aurora and Martha.
In the Rivne region, children are given such rare names as Lev-Leonid, Evstafiy-Stanislav, Roksolana, in the Sumy region - Mikhail Nanukh and Karmelitta, in the Ternopil region - Enzhelin Van-Yu.
A boy named Litvin was born in the Kherson region, Arthur-Ioan - in Khmelnitsky, Iglesias Armando - in Cherkassy. The names of Gideon, Kristyan, Judy are given to young residents of the Chernivtsi region.
The Chernihiv region also decided not to stand aside and the Chernihiv parents named their children Odysseus, Melodiya and Mandinakhon.
Kyiv parents registered children with the names of Kai, Emir, Mehran and Mlana, in Sevastopol - Feolent, Silvam Nadezhda, Juliania, Ziyoda, Milyosha.
But the honorable first places were taken by the names - Princess, Cherry, Tsaritsa (in the Transcarpathian region), Princess (in the Dnipropetrovsk region), Cinderella (in the Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions), Atlandita (in the Ivano-Frankivsk region), Madagascar (in the Zaporozhye region), Timer (in the Luhansk region), Server (in the Zaporozhye region), Cosmos (in the Donetsk region) and Lemon (in the Transcarpathian region).

An unusual name is, of course, good, but when this unusualness is in moderation.
Too exotic and pretentious name is too much, IMHO. In our country, a girl named Beladonna or Beatrice, Stella will have a hard time living. The names of Kaire, Iya, Vereneya, Milera, Kaleria are also too much, as for me. And now there are not one or two such names.
Better rarely, but aptly: Inga, Zlata, Uliana, Vlad, Yana, Kara.

The name, of course, wow, but it added problems to my life. 1. Confuse with men.
2. Constantly have to explain and clarify.
