The best winter shoes for kids. Author's review of boots

The winter is coming… Winter is coming…

It's time to prepare for winter not only for the northerners from the Game of Thrones, but also for you and me. Children need to be dressed and dressed. Considering how fast they grow, you can't rely on last year's gear. Most often, a winter jacket, overalls and boots have to be bought every season. If you are lucky a little more - that's cool!

In our family, winter clothes and shoes are bought every year. For example, now last year’s overalls 92 + 6 are still suitable for height 98, we buy one new set a size or two larger, so that it’s a little “for growth”. Likewise with boots. This is a backup option in case you still managed to get your sleeves or legs wet. For the next year, the new 98+6 overalls become the main one, and we buy a new one.

Let's talk about the choice of boots. This is one of the most important pieces of winter gear. A little earlier, I gave general recommendations on how to choose the right winter boots? Follow the link for everything related to insulation, choice of size, material, etc.

Today - specific brands and model names.

Boots should be warm enough so that the feet do not freeze, and versatile at the same time - go to school and go sledding. My children at school often go for a walk with plates, ice cubes and sleds 🙂 And in the family we often have spontaneous outings. It is not always possible to change clothes.

Boots must be waterproof - for puddles, slush and snow. They should be light enough so that the legs do not get tired. And the child should put them on/take off easily.

Waterproofing and warmth are necessary, but shoes that children will wear in the winter also need good traction on the sole so as not to slip on ice or melted snow.

Here are some tips for buying winter boots and boots. I will call it that - a guide to choosing the best winter shoes for children. This is exactly what moms look for on the Internet 🙂 All models are tested on my children.

Canadian brand Sorel

The brand has been around for over 100 years. These are functional, comfortable shoes for extreme conditions. Someone who, but Canadians know the cold no less than ours.

These models are gross, in my opinion.

There are also more elegant models in the range.

However, they all share the same qualities. All shoes are made of good materials, wear-resistant, waterproof. Their distinguishing feature is a leather upper and a vulcanized rubber sole, as well as often a removable felt boot (InnerBoots). Withstands down to -40°C. Cold winter weather won't stop you from adventuring this season! This is my favourite. I wear the same myself 🙂

Kamik

Another Canadian brand. High-tech shoes at democratic prices! Kamik boots are durable enough for all winter adventures, easy to put on and don't get wet. Made from 600 den waterproof nylon and synthetic nubuck.

Your child's feet are sure to be warm and dry, no matter how long they stay in the snow. Rated low temperatures are -40°C. These boots are perfect for kids who don't want to stay indoors in the winter.

What else is good Kamik-i. In their collections you can find winter boots. Boots are sometimes not a very suitable option for festive events. in winter.

Crocs

Great shoes! Made from innovative patented Croslite material. It is durable, water repellent, soft, very! easy. Easy to put on. And I especially like the molded toe piece. They do not absorb odors, like models on natural sheepskin.

However, their nominal temperatures are slightly lower. It is recommended to use in dry frosty weather and light slush.

Finnish brand Reima

Their boots are great, have excellent grip, maximum waterproofing. Sold in a wide range of colors.
There are models for adults.

American brand The North Face

Comfortable, quality shoes. Although I don't really like the look of the models. Warm, dry, safe.

American brand Muck boot

Very cool brand. Reviews about them meet only the best. Most models are 3-season - autumn, winter, spring. Not hot in autumn, not cold in winter. The temperature regime of the warmest Angara model is up to -25 degrees.

The boot itself is made of foam rubber, while the cuff is made of waterproof 5mm neoprene, and there is a soft fleece lining inside (increases comfort and provides long-lasting warmth). The boot cushions on the foot, adapts to the contours of the foot. Some models feature a reinforced outsole for increased durability, rigidity and torsion resistance. Just fantastic.
Very, very light, lighter than Crocs.

Choose the option that suits your lifestyle.

Italian brand Relaxshoe

In the manufacture of boots, various materials are used - leather, plastic, rubber, nylon. Wear-resistant, frost-resistant (up to -20 C calmly), do not get wet.

The inner part is a natural printed sheepskin. Wool insole with aluminum insert.

The only negative is the specific smell of natural sheepskin. Better not to sniff 🙂 or just get used to it. At first we looked at the cat very suspiciously 🙂

Tip: models with a light boot are very poorly wiped. It is better to take with dark.

I understand you will say: “There are also Ecco, Columbia, Geox, etc.” Yes, I have. I'm sure they are good, heard a lot of rave reviews. However, I did not see them in the work and did not touch them. I only recommend based on my own experience.
