Water hardening - how to be healthy

Once upon a time there lived Ivanushka. Fool-fool. He was unlucky. And he bathed in three boilers: with boiling water, milk, with icy water - and tempered himself! Turned into a handsome, smart. And luck is facing him - he married a beautiful princess, received half the kingdom. But for a long time it was in a fairy tale ...

And now, in order to become healthy and successful, hardening with water must be carried out skillfully and daily. Civilization pampered, spoiled man and, oddly enough, did not protect him from the effects of nature, but made him more vulnerable. A slight draft is already a runny nose, sore throat. A drop in atmospheric pressure, frost or heat struck - hypertensive crises, family scandals, medicines ... New ailments appeared - meteopathic. And it is true: for those who grew up in comfortable, almost sterile conditions, any microbe is deadly.

Means of hardening - air, water, sun, exercise. Everything is available, one might say, for free. It is best to start hardening the body in the summer. And one more condition - everything must be done with pleasure.

Hardening with water has two strict rules: it must be started gradually, increasing the intensity, and second, it must be constant, daily. Throw the procedure - weakness will return, followed by illness.

Hardening with water can be general (pouring, showering, bathing) and local (washing feet, hands, face). But in any case, the whole organism is hardened. And if you gradually lower the temperature of the water from time to time, then goodbye to runny noses, sore throats, colds! For those who decide to harden with water, and it is estimated that it hardens 14 times more efficiently than air, we advise you to start with local hardening. After a warm shower or bath, pour over your feet, hands, rinse your face with cold water.

Every day, increase the area of ​​​​the skin being poured - gradually the legs are already up to the knees, the arms are up to the elbows, the face and neck, and the shoulders. So without fear and fading, you will move from local to general hardening: after a hot shower - a cold one. And even later - without preparation - immediately a cold shower, or, if you wish, a dousing with ice water. Also, by lowering the temperature of the water for washing your feet day by day, you can move on to jogging barefoot in the snow in winter according to the method. It is the gradualness and regularity of air and water hardening that will ensure the success of "winter swimming" - winter swimming in the hole - extra hardening.

Hardening with water and air is especially beneficial in childhood, when the body's defense mechanisms are formed and useful procedures become a habit. The baby is one month old - give him air baths. Start with half a minute and gradually bring up to 8-10 minutes. From the second month, the baby should walk on the street for 2-4 hours. In summer, he must be outdoors all day. And do not wrap it excessively - it will grow hothouse.

In the height of summer, let the children run and play in shorts and panama hats. By the way, the children themselves instinctively alternate sun and air baths, playing either in the sun or in the shade of a tree or a canopy. Village children in Russia usually tempered themselves, although not according to science, but very effectively - they ran half-naked, barefoot in the summer, swam - and more than once a day - in streams and lakes. And the townspeople, who go to their summer cottages in the summer, put a bucket of water for each child in the sun in the morning. Before dinner, the baby was doused with this sunny water from head to toe, rubbed and laid in a hammock to rest.

By the way, both urban and rural children washed their feet with cool water before dinner. Why not before bed, but before dinner? Yes, because cool water, although it tempers, invigorates - and can frighten away sleep. On the soles of the feet there are energy zones of all organs of the body. It is not for nothing that it has long been customary for different peoples of the Earth to massage, wash, anoint the feet with oils. In some sanatoriums, walking barefoot on pebbles is a medical procedure. And in Sparta, known for the physical hardening of youth, young men were forbidden by law to wear shoes until they were 18 years old. True, the climate there was warm. And Socrates said that walking barefoot strengthens the body and sharpens the mind.

Hardening with water and air is especially important in the current environmental lawlessness. After all, it trains the vessels of the body, the nervous system, mobilizes the protective reflexes of the body to the whims of the weather, climate, that is, it heals, and therefore prolongs youth and life! Don't be Ivanushki-fools, temper yourself - and you will become Ivan-Tsarevich!
