My daughter in the last year (she is now 6.5) has switched from cartoons (where the animation is drawn) to feature films (where real people play and real emotions are shown). She is still interested in topics about princesses, princes, dragons and evil witches. So I was puzzled by the search for such beautiful fantasy films, the list of which I am sharing with you today.
In first place in the TOP 10 -
Cinderella (2015)
"Disney" adaptation of the famous story. Bright characters, a beautiful picture and a real atmosphere of a fairy tale! Looks very easy and casual.
The second most watched movie by my daughter is
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Romantic musical. In the center of the plot is the beautiful Belle and the enchanted prince, whom the sorceress turned into a disgusting monster for his rudeness and narcissism. To remove the spell from himself and the servants of his castle, he needs to learn to be kind, to love and be loved. This must happen before the last petal falls from the rose given by the Sorceress.
Our latest favorite is
Maleficent (2014)
A remake of the 1959 Disney cartoon Sleeping Beauty, as well as a free retelling and rethinking of the fairy tale itself, which is dedicated to Maleficent, the main villain of the original cartoon.
The daughter can watch excerpts from this film several times a month.
Alice in Wonderland (2010)
A very (!) colorful film in which even children here are familiar with everything - Alice, the White Rabbit, and the Red Queen, and the Hatter. These are old friends from Lewis Carroll's fairy tale.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory is an amazing place that produces the most delicious chocolate in the area. The factory is completely closed from the eyes, and an excursion to this place is the dream of any child. Willy Wonka holds a lottery and raffles 5 tickets for a visit to the factory. The lucky ones get a unique chance to change their lives. However, in the end, not only children will find true happiness.
Espen in the troll kingdom (2017)
The son of a poor farmer embarks on a dangerous journey to save the princess from the Mountain Troll in order to receive a reward and save the family farm from ruin.
Looked once. For a change - a good option, but does not ask to reconsider.
The Chronicles of Narnia (2005 - 2010)
3 parts about the adventures of British schoolchildren in a magical land called Narnia, where animals can talk, magic surprises no one, and good fights evil. The story of Clive Lewis at its finest!
The Jungle Book (2016)
The story of a boy who, alone, got into the heart of the wild jungle, and became an integral part of it. Should I tell you the story?
Everything here is by the book. Friends are nearby - a pack of wolves, a bear and a black panther. But the enemies are not asleep either, some inhabitants of the jungle consider the human cub their prey. Visually, it's a very good movie.
The next three films show a little more gore than I would like.
Stardust (2007)
Ancient walls separate the English town from a magical parallel universe. Young Tristan recklessly promises a local beauty to get a star that has fallen on the other side of the wall. On his way, Tristan will meet the all-powerful king and his sons, a powerful witch, a pirate captain, and also find his true love.
The film was interesting to watch even for adults. Beautiful acting, good music, interesting plot.
Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and The Huntsman and the Snow Queen (2016)
A merciless darkness shrouds the land as the Evil Queen picks up her magic mirror. But there is a girl who has enough strength to resist evil spells. And her name is Snow White!
