Is the harm of drugs justified?

Health problems concern everyone, so it is constantly necessary to monitor your well-being and the health of loved ones. But most of us, unfortunately, are used to being treated with only one medicine. Tablets quickly relieve pain and bring relief, but this is a temporary effect.

It is difficult to find a person who has not heard about the side effects of drugs that carry toxins into the body and cause allergies and addiction.
And if we add to this their cost, for example, for the whole year? Most of us think that a pill is like a sniper's bullet, hitting the target without a miss. In fact, it looks more like a fragmentation projectile hitting the area. Doctors themselves usually do not take drugs.

Is the harm of drugs really justified?

Scientists say that up to 25% of all patients are hospitalized due to improper medication. When using several drugs at once, the risk of complications increases significantly, especially in the elderly. "Consequences can be different - from nausea or rash to hemorrhage in the internal organs." (Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Pharmacology of the Russian State Medical University Yu. Belousov).

Every day, tens of thousands of people use painkillers, and most without a prescription! Billions are spent worldwide to treat complications after taking painkillers. We must not forget about medical errors. Testing revealed that when prescribing more than three drugs at the same time, errors are made in 80% of cases, of which 18% are fatal. The reason is the incompatibility of drugs with each other.

Separately, it is necessary to say about fakes! The annual turnover of counterfeit drugs in the world is about 32 billion dollars. This is about 10% of their total sales, and in some countries up to 50%. Which leads to the death of more than a million people a year. Up to 60% of fakes come from third world countries, but they are produced even in such developed countries as, for example, Italy.

We especially want to warn you against biological additives (BAA), various balms, teas, vitamins, etc., often advertised in many newspapers as a medicine, which many dubious one-day firms issue as a panacea for everyone, including severe, chronic and even incurable diseases. This is, to put it mildly, craftiness, but simply a deception. Analogues of such dietary supplements are at best cheap herbal preparations (tinctures), which cost 10-20 times cheaper. Moreover, these “miracle” remedies are sold not in pharmacies, but in cinemas and Houses of Culture, even without being registered by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine! In addition, the sale of such funds since July 2009 has already been banned by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The number of drugs approved for use in the former USSR did not exceed 4 thousand. Today, there are about 18 thousand of them on the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine. We do not deny that many people managed to significantly improve their lives thanks to drugs, for example, employees of pharmaceutical companies, where profits can reach 300% and more! The drug market in Ukraine is oversaturated with “super fashionable” drugs, and their advertising has flooded all the media.

And so, we again succumb to advertising and are in a hurry to buy a new "miracle" pill, but is it worth it?
