Contrary to popular belief that drawings on coffee (latte art) are modern art, in fact it arose a long time ago. The founding fathers of latte art are the Capuchin monks, who noted the formation of thick milk foam when pouring it into coffee. Delicious milk foam has become an integral part of Italian coffee, and this is how the wonderful cappuccino drink (capuccino) was born, which today means any coffee with milk foam on the surface. Although this is not entirely true.
It is in the manufacture of cappuccino and latte that you can create various patterns on coffee. Latte art translates as the art of painting with milk foam. Personally, I can only draw hearts, but professional baristas get complex compositions inspired by their own imagination. Baristas draw either with a special vessel for milk - a pitcher (called the pitching direction), or with a sharp toothpick or stick (the direction is called etching). Both techniques are often used, stencils (what did you think?), starch-based syrups, cinnamon, hot chocolate.
The heart is easy to draw. To do this, you need a toothpick and a properly prepared cappuccino (this is also a separate art, by the way). Put a toothpick on the surface of the cappuccino with a dot, then dip a toothpick 0.5 cm next to it and draw it through the dot, the foam itself spreads into a heart. I got it on the 5th try 🙂
Well, what next? Next, improve your art. The drawings on coffee below (photo) will help you. Good luck!
