Useful properties of tangerines

If we look into dictionaries or reference books to determine what is hidden behind the concept of "mandarin", we will find two explanations in any presentation: one, the name of Chinese high-ranking officials, and the second, which is more interesting and of practical interest to us, is an evergreen shrub with brightly - orange round fruits, and, most importantly, very productive. From one tree you can collect 100-150 kg. fruits.

For some reason, when they talk about the benefits of citrus fruits, which include mandarin, they always mean only lemons and oranges. Mandarin in the minds of most of our compatriots is associated only with the New Year holidays. For a long time, for the inhabitants of the former Soviet Union, such an exotic fruit was out of reach and therefore it was not necessary to be very interested in its beneficial properties, for many it was simply a symbol of the biggest and favorite holiday and appeared on the table only with the arrival of Santa Claus, and even then only in big cities .

Today, when tangerines have become our everyday product, it's time to learn about the beneficial properties of tangerines .

It turns out that this small orange fruit is very interesting both in terms of its taste, and in terms of the composition of the vitamins contained in it, and for use for cosmetic purposes. But as in other cases, there are always restrictions on its use and application for the soul and body.

First, let's focus on those of its properties that bring us joy and pleasure. Tangerines are currently grown in various countries, and they can differ in both appearance and taste depending on where they come from. We very rarely, without a hint, can distinguish what exactly fell into our hands: tangier or satsuma, or maybe a hybrid with the beautiful name clementine, we buy all these varieties, meaning just tangerine, loving it for its beautiful bright colors, and for the wonderful aroma, and for the everlasting memories of childhood.

And our love for this fruit pays off in full. After all, mandarin is a storehouse of vitamins. Tangerines are well stored and tolerate transportation, retaining all their useful properties. Tangerines contain a huge amount of vitamin C, are rich in B vitamins (B1, B2), they contain vitamins K, P, they have vitamin D and provitamin A. The content of trace elements in it, namely potassium, magnesium and calcium, helps to improve metabolic processes in the body and increases appetite.

Another distinctive feature of tangerines is the absence of nitrates in their fruits, this feature is associated with the presence of citric acid in them, namely, nitrates do not get along with it.

In tangerines, not only the pulp has useful properties, but also the peel and even the white mesh, which everyone tries to remove from the slices, giving them beauty.
Traditional medicine widely uses mandarin peel in its recipes. Freshly peeled peel is recommended as an antiemetic, used for diarrhea and bronchitis. The dried peel is a good sedative for the nervous system. A white mesh with lobules is useful for those who have problems with blood vessels, it has a beneficial effect on their walls.

It is especially worth dwelling on the beneficial properties and use of tangerine oil obtained in the process of cold pressing from the peel.
French mothers, with the help of a light massage of the baby's tummy, relieve him of such familiar colic and excess gases. The beauty industry also uses this oil to produce massage creams and oils. The presence of tangerine oil in them gives the skin softness and elasticity.

Aromatherapy recommends the use of tangerine oil for baths. The main thing is to know the measure in everything, since with very sensitive skin you can not only harm yourself, but also get burned.

You can talk a lot about the benefits of tangerines, but it’s simply impossible not to say about them as a good remedy for winter beriberi: eat 2 tangerines 2-3 times a day after meals, and don’t throw away their skins. Having accumulated the peel from 12 fruits in this way, grind them, add 1 drop of pine oil and 3 drops of lavender oil and take a bath for 20 minutes with the addition of this amazing mixture. The aroma of citrus, lavender and pine needles will remove accumulated fatigue from you and cheer you up. Add some joy to yourself!

But for those who have problems with the gastrointestinal tract, namely a stomach ulcer, gastritis with high acidity, colitis, it is contraindicated to get carried away with this wonderful fruit with all the love for it.

Mandarin has many more wonderful properties. But if we dwell on each in detail, we will have a whole treatise. Therefore, we will stop here and wish everyone the pleasure of eating small orange prototypes of the sun.
