How to wash things in a washing machine

How is a man different from an animal, except for a developed thumb and straight walking? That's right, the lack of wool. Having lost its own skin thousands of years ago, humanity is constantly looking for a replacement, improving the technology of making clothes.

Along with the newly acquired "skin" came another problem - the problem of cleaning this very new "skin". As we know, all animals are kind to their fur. A vivid example is cats, eternally clean, licking themselves several times a day. Elephants, by the way, are very fond of showers, and hippos happily bask in the swamp.

Laundry history. But what about man? Let's remember. The ancient Romans washed their togas in the Tiber, tying them to a long rope so that the robe would not be swept away by the rushing current. The bubbling water flowed well through the fabric and washed away dirt particles. The Russians “beat” their clothes against the water or beat them with a mallet.

How are things with the laundry of modern housewives? Are there specific washing rules ?

Soiled clothes go through a storage procedure before being washed. Dirty linen waits for enough items to be collected and for the hostess to find time to sort and sort the linen, load it into the machine, and hang up the clean linen and clothes. Considering that most families have a washing machine installed in the bathroom, it is logical to store dirty linen there as well. To do this, you can use a special basket, for example, from a wicker decorative vine, or a box with small holes so that the linen "breathes". Otherwise, dampness spots will appear, it will be oh how difficult to wash them.

Today we will not talk about hand washing. In the era of technological progress, almost everyone wash their clothes in a washing machine, so that's what we'll talk about. So here are the washing instructions.

5 tips for proper washing of things in the washing machine

The first rule is checking pockets. This item may not affect the quality of the wash, but your husband will be very upset if you wash his pass or ticket to a football match. And in pockets, flash drives, money, business cards, etc. can be littered. It will be embarrassing.

Secondly, fasten / tie zippers, buttons, laces on clothes, straighten shirt sleeves, wash trousers and jeans turned inside out. But it is desirable to unfasten the buttons. If there are stubborn stains (from coffee, juice, lipstick, sweat, grease) - treat them. Of course, it is better to treat stains immediately after the “misfortune”, but anything can happen: the husband took off his T-shirt and forgot to tell you. Read our article - how to remove old stains.

The third condition for high-quality washing is the sorting of laundry. Otherwise, your favorite white t-shirt will turn nasty pink and your lace panties will turn ugly gray.

Separately, we sort the linen by color: white, beige - in one pile, red and burgundy - in another, black and dark blue - in the third, the rest - in the fourth. With experience, an understanding will come of which things can be combined by color, and which ones will definitely shed. From each heap formed, we make 2-3 more: cotton and linen can be washed together, but wool and silk are best washed separately.

Separately, we wash heavily soiled items, such as construction uniforms, and items that can shed.

Step four - laying clothes in the car. Here you need to follow the recommendations of the manufacturer of the washing machine, the instructions indicate the optimal load weight. Do not fill the machine to capacity and evenly distribute clothes for each wash. If you put one big sheet and a lot of small things (panties, socks), then the machine may become unbalanced and it will start jumping around the bathroom.

The fifth rule is the choice of the washing program and the temperature regime. You can get by with general recommendations or carefully read the signs for washing on clothes. The designations for washing are given on labels sewn onto clothes, and their decoding can be found in the instructions for the washing machine or on our website.

General recommendations for choosing a temperature regime: white and light-colored items can be washed in hot water (60 degrees), and items that are prone to shedding should be washed in cold water. For other things, the ideal temperature is 30 degrees.

Of course, these are not washing standards that should be followed unconditionally. After all, any housewife, first of all, is guided by her own experience and the features of her washing machine. But do you have to start somewhere?
