There is a myth that poplin is an invention of modern industry. However, it is not! The first poplin products date back to the 14th century. From poplin they sewed clothes for the Vatican priests (even the name of the fabric speaks for itself, translated from Italian "papalino" - "papal"). The Russian Empire got acquainted with poplin in the 18th century and knew it as "European calico".

Poplin bed linen has a very long service life, it will serve you no less than a set of calico, but it is softer and thinner, outwardly closer to satin. At the same time, it does not lose its shape and does not roll. Doesn't burn out! Even if your bedroom is flooded with sun all day, the print will remain bright and juicy.
These recommendations only apply to 100% cotton poplin. If the composition contains synthetic or silk threads, special care conditions are required.
At high temperatures, synthetics will shrink by 1-2 cm, and silk is completely washed by hand (or in a typewriter using liquid detergents and without wringing).
