Who needs psychotherapy?

There is an opinion that psychotherapy is needed only for weak people, those who like to complain and are generally dissatisfied with life.
Of course it isn't. ⠀
Everyone needs the help of a specialist.
At a minimum, analyzing the situation alone and together with a psychotherapist is a big difference. ⠀
Sometimes, in stress or in a serious conflict, memory is able to block some information in order to protect our psyche.
And then the psychologist, as a person not involved in the situation, is able to help reveal the whole picture to the end. ⠀
The next erroneous opinion is that there is no need to stir up the past, because what's the difference what happened in childhood.
This is wrong. ⠀
It is very important not to lock in yourself those emotions and events that were bad.
By speaking, recognizing something painful, traumatizing you, you are healed. Of course it will be painful, difficult, but what a load you will remove and how easy it will become on your soul. ⠀
The opinion that people in a couple do not need a psychotherapist because they have each other is not true.
Unfortunately, it's often the other way around. And if you rejoice that your family is always quiet, calm, this is not yet an indicator. Someone alone can endure, so as not to disturb the idyll. ⠀
Conflict in family relationships is like one of the ways to say: "I care about you."
Throw out emotions, energy. ⠀
When it comes to psychologically mature partners who do not survive at the expense of each other, then the conflict implies not breaking dishes.
It could be a dispute about the color of the curtains or the rug in the bathroom. And very quickly a solution is found that satisfies both parties. ⠀
In society, it is believed that you need to be strong, not moan and ignore your needs.
Ask for help only when things are really bad. Can this behavior be called "strong"? Very debatable.

Most likely, those who are afraid to take risks and change something, those who are afraid of someone else's opinion, say so.

In keeping with this topic, I would like to recommend Barbara Streisand's film "Lord of the Tides".

It describes the situation very well, how parents turn children into prisoners of their own problems.
And what difficulties of adult life then await them. How difficult secrets lead to the desire to end one's own life, and how important psychotherapy is. ⠀
And of course, my blog @nataly.answer is always open for you!
There is a lot of information about psychology, psychosomatics and just about life. Live communication in live broadcasts, comments of participants and secrets of losing weight.
